We are the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM), a Catholic religious congregation founded in 1877 by Blessed Mary of the Passion.
Born from a missionary impulse in service of the Gospel, we quickly spread throughout the world.
Today, we are present in many countries, serving local populations through education, healthcare, support for the most vulnerable, and dialogue between cultures and religions.
We are above all adorers
At the heart of our life lies an essential foundation: adoration. We are, first and foremost, adorers. Our life is rooted in a personal encounter with Christ, especially in the Eucharist. Each day, prayer and Eucharistic adoration nourish our mission and unite us with the Lord, keeping Him at the center of our life and all our actions.
It is from this living relationship with God that our missionary commitment finds its meaning. Adoration is not separate from mission: it is its source, its fundamental principle, and its heart. It enables us to recognize God’s presence in the world and to serve with renewed vision.
Inspired by the Gospel, the spirituality of Saint Francis of Assisi, and the example of the Virgin Mary, we live a simple, fraternal, and missionary life. Our vocation is to be present wherever there is need, adapting to the human, social, and cultural realities of the places to which we are sent.
