150 years!
In 2027, we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary.
Founded on January 6, 1877, our congregation was born from a missionary impulse to serve the Gospel and the most vulnerable.
For 150 years, sisters have been sent throughout the world to love, to serve, and to proclaim Christ. Even today, we continue this mission in more than 70 countries.

The Transitus of Saint Francis Celebrated by the Franciscan Family
On Saturday 3 October 2026, the Franciscan family gathered at the church of Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois in Paris to celebrate the Transitus of Saint Francis of Assisi, 800 years after his death. A prayer vigil, led by the different branches of the Franciscan family, to remember the one whose spirit still brings people together eight centuries later.
