Community History
For more than 90 years, the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary have been present in Lille — a long faithfulness to this northern city, marked by several founding milestones.
1933
Foundation of the FMM community in Lille, rue du Faubourg de Roubaix.
1950
Opening of a youth residence, the first service welcoming young people in Lille.
1966
Opening of a residence for young working women, continuing the sisters’ social commitment.
1977
Opening of the “Notre Dame de l’Accueil” retirement home, welcoming an FMM community and lay residents — 40 people in total.
2003
The house becomes a medicalised care home (EHPAD), offering an adapted framework for residents.
2007
Management is entrusted to the Groupe Hospitalier de l’Institut Catholique de Lille (G.H.I.C.L), in continuity with the Catholic spirit of the house.
Community Life
Within the Notre Dame de l’Accueil care home, the FMM community continues its Franciscan missionary life, marked by times of prayer and fraternal encounters.
The sisters wish to remain open and welcoming to all those around them — residents, families and staff — in Franciscan simplicity and discretion.

The establishment has been managed by the G.H.I.C.L — Hospital Group of the Institut Catholique de Lille — since 2007.
